What does ‘alumni’ mean?

Alumni (Ah-lum-nigh) is the plural form of Alumnus (Ah-lum-nuss), which means a pupil or graduate of a university, college, or school. We have extended the meaning of Vic Alumni to graduates, former students, staff and people with a close affinity to the University such as parents of students.

Is the directory secure? Who has access?

All the information contained in the Life after Vic directory is fully protected. It can only be viewed by other alumni who are registered users. You have the option of hiding any information that you do not wish others to see.

What information can be viewed by other registered alumni members?

Other Life after Vic users can view your current country of residence, the year you graduated and the degree you received from Victoria University.

How do I update my address?

You can keep your details up to date by using the Life after Vic directory. Simply log in with your name and date of birth then you can view the information we hold on you and make any changes.

What if I don’t want any information listed?

Only registered alumni are listed. You can unsubscribe to Life after Vic at any time and your information will not be listed.

How can the Life after Vic directory be used?

The Life after Vic directory can be used by you to update your contact details and information. You can also email other registered alumni and join alumni interest groups.

The information is held securely by Victoria University and we do not share this information with anyone else.

How much does it cost to join alumni?

It’s free. You don’t have to pay to join the alumni. You will automatically become one of our alumni members once your degree has been conferred by the University council. This means you can access our online directory Life after Vic, receive the alumni magazine Victorious as well as invitations to our various functions and events.

Changing your details with the university

You can change your address and other details by registering with our new Life after Vic online directory, as well as taking the chance to look up old colleagues and let us know any current news. Or email alumni@vuw.ac.nz or telephone 04 463 9665

Use the official code for your degree(s) followed by the abbreviation for Wellington - Well in italics or (Well) in brackets.

Proving qualifications to a prospective employer

Qualifications can be proven to a prospective employer with a copy of your academic transcript or a copy of your degree, both of which can be ordered from Victoria University of Wellington.

Ordering an academic transcript or a replacement of degree certificate

If you graduated prior to 1992 you can obtain an academic transcript by emailing Enrolments at
