Overview of Tasks in the course

The assigned work in the course includes three tasks which must all be completed to satisfy the minimum requirements for passsing the course:

Completion of a set of tutorials modelling in Archicad, Revit and Architectural Desktop and rendering the models in Viz

A short introductory 3D modelling and rendering Exercise:
The course commences with a 3 week skills exercise designed to provide an overview of the whole process you will go through in doing Assignments One and Two. It provides an opportunity to compare and contrast the AutoCAD, Revit and ArchiCAD CAD programs' abilities at performing the same tasks and a not-for-credit opportunity to create a web page.

Construction of a digital model of a complex building in collaboration with a minimum of one other person

A major collaborative assignment crafting a digital model of a significant piece of architecture: Assignment One involves practical CAD work on computer. It develops sudents' abilities to make effective use of electronic modelling and rendering packages available in the School (AutoCAD and/or Revit and/or ArchiCAD plus Lightscape or 3DS Viz and Radiance rendering software).

This Assignment contributes 55% of the course grade.

Documentation via the web of the process of collaboration in the making of the digital model

A collaborative website design and craft assignment: Assignment Two involves constructing a web site for the management and sharing of electronic information about a building model.

This Assignment contributes 45% to the course grade.
