Day One: Wednesday June 22

The first day of the conference focuses on welcoming and setting the foundation for the conference and our delegates. Following registrations and the official welcoming ceremony (powhiri), delegates will depart on tours designed to introduce them to and inform them about Wellington, Māori (the indigenous people of New Zealand), and the local tribal area(s). Upon returning to Rutherford House, delegates will be welcomed by the host organisation, He Pārekereke, and will be addressed by our first keynote speaker Linda Tuhiwai Smith. The day concludes with a multimedia presentation highlighting indigenous realities, to be followed by cocktails and time to reflect on the day, network, and look forward to Day Two.

Day Two: Thursday June 23

In reply to the challenge made on Day One, Day Two of the conference features speakers and research that contribute to developing 'Healthy and Sustainable Communities'. All sessions will be held at the Pipitea Campus. Keynote: Prof. Leroy Little Bear.

Day Three: Friday June 24

Friday highlights research geared towards 'Social, Political and Economic Transformation for Maori and Indigenous Communities'. All sessions will be held at the Rutherford House / Pipitea Campus location. The day ends with the conference dinner. Keynote: Erykah Kyle.

Day Four: Saturday June 25

The final day of the conference focuses on the future. Speakers and research related to 'New Frontiers of Knowledge' will cover traditional epistemologies and new knowledge, and transforming academic paradigms. All sessions will be held at the Rutherford House / Pipitea Campus location. Keynotes: Representatives from GNS, AgResearch and NIWA.
