Postgraduate Information
There are a number of events directed towards postgraduates and building academic networks.
On Friday the 4th of July, there will be a short workshop (5.30pm to 7pm) followed by a postgraduate mixer with some complementary wine. If you are in the first, middle or last stages of their PhD, Master or any other postgraduate qualification, you are welcome to come along. Further details of the workshop is available below.
Workshop on the formation of a National Postgraduate Network for Geography Students
Postgraduate students are an important part of the New Zealand Geographical Society (NZGS). This workshop is hopefully the first in a number of initiatives aimed at making the geography postgraduate community more visible at a national scale in New Zealand. The main topic for discussion is the identification of the need and/or form of a national postgraduate network for geography students. The workshop is designed to brainstorm a range of ideas including the development of a postgraduate section on the NZGS website, seminars and discussion forums run through the Access Grid, an annual postgraduate social event etc. I would be great to have a range of postgraduate students and academics attend this workshop and other ideas or points of discussion are welcome. Please email Pippa Mitchell p.mitchell@auckland.ac.nz to register for the workshop or make comments.
Conveners: Pippa Mitchell (PhD, Auckland), Emily McKibbin (Honours, Auckland),
Simon Aiken (Masters, Auckland) and Claire Gregory (PhD, Auckland)
Chair: Ed Challies
