Abstract:
In September/October 1994 the author visited a number of libraries and library schools in
North America, and attended two Conferences: Mosaic and the Web: Second International WWW
Conference '94, Chicago IL, 17-20 October 1994; and Online/CD-ROM '94, San Francisco CA, 24-26
October 1994. This article discusses what was learnt about the challenges faced by libraries
in dealing with Internet information resources, and how libraries are responding. Library
World-Wide Web servers, in particular, provide a tool for libraries to organise information
resources for their clientele.
