Brenda is a senior lecturer in information studies in the School of Information Management at Victoria University of Wellington.
She has a B.Sc. (Chemistry and Mathematics, 1976) and an M.L.S. (1978) from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She is currently completing a Ph.D. on factors that influence participant satisfaction with free/libre and open source source software. As a by-product of her research, she created a bibliography on open source software and libraries. The most recent version of the bibliography is available on Zotero as the Free/Libre and Open Source Software and Libraries Bibliography; Nicole Engard has been contributing to the bibliography since early 2010.
Her current teaching areas are electronic publishing (INFO 541) and advanced information technology for information managers (INFO 545).
