And here I get to waffle on about Music I like.

If you've already visited the links section you'll probably have a reasonable idea as to what I like already, otherwise here you go:

Marillion: contrary to public opinion they are a) not a Scottish heavy metal band and b) are not fronted by Fish anymore. Steve Hogarths the dude in the front (without leathers) and their music is pretty damm good. For those of you wanting to start with something of theirs, I'd suggest the newest studio album "Anoraknophobia" or the live album from the tour "Anorak in the UK" (the version from EMI is a single CD, the version from Marillion.com is a 2CD). There are sound samples from their webpage (see links). I've been lucky enough to see them twice, once at Oswestry (also released as a CD), and recently at the convention playing Brave, a 2 hour fan selected set, and an acoustic (mostly) set. Great stuff.

Fish: also not a Scottish heavy metaller, but used to front Marillion. Now solo, his stuffs a bit patchy so be careful !! Possibly worth starting with Raingods with Zippos or Vigil in the Wilderness of Mirrors both available from his website (see links).

Porcupine Tree: Pop-rock meets Floyd. Kinda. The rock project of Steve Wilson, they have recently signed and are about to release an album with Atlantic records in the US which is pretty exciting for them :-) I'd recommend one of their last two studio efforts, Stupid Dream or Lightbulb Sun as a good starting point. Again link to sound samples off their webpage - see links.

Greg Johnson: thought I'd throw in some Kiwi music here. Nice laid back kinda quirky stuff - and for a change not the Muttonbirds or Crowded House (or any other kind of Finn-spinnoff). I have no idea if Greg has a website or how available his stuff is outside of Australasia. Give me a yell if you want some, but can't find it.

There are obviously heaps of other artists I could drop in here, but decided not to. In time I may add some (I keep thinking IQ should be here too), but til then...enjoy these ones. Oh and I'm always interested in boots etc of the first three bands...
